AC Shadows Introduces Bizarre Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season
In a unexpected crossover event that breaks traditional expectations, the game developer has announced an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Questline Disclosed
According to the formal announcement, "A mysterious encounter draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where rumors of prohibited practices and monstrous metamorphoses reverberate through the obscurity." The storyline presents a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a clandestine cult.
The adventure focuses on "peculiar experiments and a terrifying enemy" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Transformations
The teaser features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview concludes with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Bonus Content
Players who finish the mission will obtain an special katana in addition to several objects hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe

Third Free Story Update
This release also brings the game's latest complimentary story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive abilities: Naoe introduces a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

The series previously featured a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
